Welcome to a Wacky Wednesday! I love getting the chance to see you all through Flipgrid, Zoom meetings, and our video chat office hours! It’s fun to see your smiling faces.

Are you curious about How Did April Fools’ Day Begin? Maybe this Wonder of the Day will bring some clarity to your wonder. Leave a comment if something was surprising to you!

Math Resources

Must Do Activities: These are the same assignments posted on Monday and Tuesday.

1. IXL You must complete the four recommended skills with a smart score of at least 80. The amount of time this will take will vary. This week we will be reviewing multiplying whole numbers.

Here is a Khan Academy video if you need a refresher. Or, you can watch a Flocabulary video! If you used the code in yesterday’s post, you will find it in the assignments.

2. Here is an online practice test. Watch the video to learn how to navigate to the test. You will be logging in as a guest, so just find a piece of paper and write the answers down. I will be creating a Kahoot that uses these questions! So be prepared! If you need to watch a video on how to access the practice test, click here.

3. You will also need to complete an 8 question Galileo assignment. If you need a reminder on how to access Galileo, click here for yesterday’s post.

You may work at a pace that works best for you and your family, but it must all be complete by Friday, April 3.

May do Activities:

4.Prodigy This will help you practice multiplying whole numbers as well. This is really more of a may do. Use this for fun or if you feel you need more practice before you complete the Galileo assignment. If you are having trouble with a new account and the class code, try clicking you are at school instead of home.

Science Resources

Science at this time is considered ‘May Do’ Activities, but I do hope you participate!

Today would have been an early release day for you! If you didn’t participate in the airplane challenge yesterday, maybe try it today! If you did, and have a younger sibling in your house and the airplane video was a little too difficult, maybe show them this video! This video also discusses what we’ve been learning about, force and motion!

Share your results with someone you love! Today’s recommendation is to call or Face Time a grandparent (or older family member) that doesn’t live at your house, and tell them about your project!

  • Possible things to talk about:
    • What did you learn?
    • What did you build?
    • What problems did you run into?
    • How did you solve them?

It’s Wonder Wednesday! Visit Wonderopolis and find something that interests you. Then, use flip grid to share your learning! I will email you the link.

Fun Stuff (always optional, always fun)

Dancing Baby Ostriches

Why do you think they are doing this? Have you ever spun around in circles? Why did you do it? Could they be the same reasons? If you find any scientific proof, share with us why!

That’s all for today! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Maybe go outside and dance like a baby ostrich!
