I wasn’t sure who screamed. It was either me, Kaye, or both of us. Suddenly my pants were wet. “WHO ARE YOU?” the tree asked. I was desperate to find an answer. “Umm…we….gaahhhh,” was all I managed. Really heroic. Before I could say something sensible, he threw a yellow bicycle at us. As we barely managed to dodge, he warned, “LEAVE!” Then, Kaye suddenly threw something at him. “What was that?” I asked. “A twinkie,” she replied. When we looked at him again, he was snarfing down the pastry. After he was finished, he greedily looked at us for more.
