Written by Katelyn for the 100 word challenge

Ellie painted a messy, purple streak across her canvas. The streak covered everything but the elephant she painted. She wasn’t satisfied with her art. Painting only made her happy when she did a good job. She did not think she did a good job on this. Ellie heard the door creek open. She turned around to see her sister staring at her. “What’s wrong?” She said, “Nothing, May,” that was a lie. “How was your violin practice?”, Ellie said attempting to change the subject. May kept staring at her, “I don’t like my art,” Ellie finally answered, “It’s all wrong!” “There’s no such thing as perfect art,” May insisted. Ellie looked at May and then at her art. Now that she thought about it, her art wasn’t a mess, it was a masterpiece!
