The Torn-Up House

Written by Marty for the 100 word challenge

On a cold Sunday morning, there was a torn-up house, where the old lady lived. Many people around town called her a scary old witch. The house looked very ugly and old. It was on 29th street. The whole fence was gone. Inside the house lived an old lady named Miss Iris. She was a good cook, but many people did not know that. An 8-year-old boy named Andrew felt bad for Miss Iris. He thought Miss Iris was lonely. One day, Andrew decided to visit Miss Iris to say hello and bring her flowers. He was surprised about how friendly she was to him. He had a great time with her. They played games, talked and baked cookies. Andrew truly learned to ‘’Never Judge a Book by Its Cover.’’
